Run or walk on Sunday, August 21st to support the new nursing school at Selian Lutheran Hospital in Tanzania.
The ministries of Selian Lutheran Hospital, the Arusha Lutheran Medical Centre (ALMC) and The Plaster House, touch the bodies, hearts and lives of thousands of people in Tanzania every year. Whether it is fistulae repair (for young women injured in child birth), treating burns (for toddlers who fall into cooking fires), or correcting cleft palate, club foot, or skeletal flurosis (which prevents children from running and walking like their peers), these ministries take a wholistic approach to restoring physical health and renewing family life.
As new ministries emerge, one of the most significant challenges is the difficulty of finding nurses in Tanzania. Dr. Jacobson and the ALMC are seeking to address this by founding a new nursing school in Arusha. We are excited about the long-term difference this development will make in Tanzanian health work. The proceeds from this year’s Selian 5K will go to support the creation of this new school. We encourage you to be generous in your support, and passionate as you encourage others to join you in doing so. Thank you for your interest in supporting the work of our ministry partners in Tanzania. Their work, and your support, makes a difference!
